How to treat Wrinkle
Wrinkles aren’t harmful and are a natural part of the ageing process. However, you may decide you don’t like the way they look. Before you decide to have treatment, think carefully about what you’re hoping to gain. It’s important to understand that some of these treatments might not give you miracles.
Wrinkle treatments
Chemical peels
Chemical peels aim to improve and smooth the texture of the skin on your face. Various chemicals are applied to remove the damaged outer layers of the skin, and might help reduce lines and fine wrinkles. Peels range from mild chemical peels that you can buy over the counter, to deeper chemical peels clinical peels. If you use a chemical peel ensure you have no plans for at least 5 days.
Dermabrasion for Wrinkles
Dermabrasion is used to treat laughter lines. It’s a treatment which involves scraping the surface of your skin with a hand-held mechanical device. local anaesthetic for this procedure will be given, or a painkilling injection called a nerve blocker. The procedure consequently leaves skin smoother and firmer than before.
Alpha-hydroxy acids
Treatments containing these acids are quite safe but can cause discomfort and irritation. The improvement they produce is, however, relatively subtle.
Wrinkle moisturisers
Moisturisers temporarily make wrinkles appear less noticeable. They reduce the appearance of fine lines, but dont irradiate them. In other words moisturisers aren’t the strongest option.
Botulinum Toxin injections
These toxin injections may reduce some types of wrinkles, but not all. Botulinum is commonly known as ‘Botox’ but this is actually the trade name. Botox injections are often used to treat forehead and frown lines that come from making facial expressions. In addition they can also reduce crow’s feet and mouth wrinkles.
Retinol
Retinol causes new collagen to form in aged skin and in skin damaged by ultraviolet rays. Skin creams with retinol are available over the counter. But many do not indicate the concentration of the active ingredient. However retinol makes skin sensitive to light, so ensure you wear sunscreen.
Prevent wrinkles by staying out of the sun
keep out of direct sun light if you can help it. In addition wear sunscreen at all times even when isn’t its brightest. Another thing to avoid is sun beds. They contain a high concentration of UV rays, which are highly damaging to skin. And lastly keep your skin hydrated!
