Idris Elba Angers fans with COVID19 comments
Idris Elba hit headlines last month after testing positive for COVID last month. He made a video with his wife to discuss his symptoms and urged the public to stay indoors. Fortunately he and his wife Sabrina have made a full recovery.
Today speaking with sky news idris made the following comment: ‘”I think that the world should take a week of quarantine every year just to remember this time. Remember each other. I really do.’
He went on to say: “I think it’s… other species use it. It’s called hibernation. But it does remind you that the world doesn’t tick on your time.”
Some fans on twitter are not happy with his remarks. One twitter user joked: “Forget the family trip we’ve spent all year saving for, kids. I’ve had to use up my holiday for Idris Elba’s ‘coronavirus rememberence’ week.”
While another tweeted: ‘This is a masterclass in how not to read the country. Or is Idris Elba getting into character for his next role as a Liberal Democrat politician?’
Although Idris can do no wrong in some people’s eyes. One woman commented on instagram: ‘I doubt care what he say! Idris is still bae😍.’ followed by: ‘who I gotta fight for him? Don’t come for Idris!.
Idris Elba has yet to reply to the criticism. He may be busy with his philanthropic work. Idris has also launched a project focusing on how people are coping whilst on lock down. Whilst on lock down why not binge watch critically acclaimed drama The Wire! Starring Idris Elba as bad boy stringer bell. Or catch him staring in BBC crime drama Luther. His comments may be ridiculous but there’s no denying he stars in some great box sets!
Hopefully we can put his comments behind us and continue to #bekind
