Mauricio Pochettino could get CHELSEA “challenging for titles straightaway” by signing a world-class striker like Victor Osimhen – the board have been told

Chelsea have spent over £600 million on new players over the past couple of transfer windows and have signed some very good players – but they failed to get a new striker signed up.

That has led to all sorts of speculation in the media about who the club could possibly sign at the end of the season – with some big names from across the pond linked with a move to the Premier League.

Mauricio Pochettino will be the next man to try and get Chelsea challenging for titles again next season after he agreed to make a stunning return to the Premier League management game.

However – the former PSG and Tottenham boss will have alot of work to do when he takes over at the club – and now the club have been told that adding a new striker to the squad will immediatly get the club challenging for trophies.

talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook told GIVEMESPORT: “I think Pochettino can get Chelsea challenging for titles straightaway with a couple of additions, including a striker. Maybe that could come into his thinking.

“They like Osimhen as well. So, maybe that one might be more likely [than Harry Kane] at this stage, but I can see the connection with Pochettino.”

Should Chelsea sign Osimhem?

Pochettino will know what striker he wants and needs – so he will have already given the board a list of possible signings – But adding a striker is not the only problem at the club as a new stopper, defender and central midfielders is also needed.

Osimhen is a brilliant striker that has impressed over at Napoli – but the Premier League is totally different and he could fail to adapt to the quality of the English game.
